Monday Musings- Easter Look

How was your Easter weekend? I hope you had lots of yummy treats and spent some quality time with your loved ones. I had a wonderful Easter weekend, I got to meet up with Amanda from Latest-Wrinkle and Emily from Threads and Blooms, these are two amazing bloggers that I am lucky enough to call friends. We had some fun doing a few outfit shots, and you will be seeing the results of our day today and next week. 

Are you surprised I am wearing another 'poufy' skirt? I had a gift certificate from my local mall that I used to snag this amazing 424 Fifth skirt when it was on sale. So it cost me nothing-score! I even decided to shoot this look with my beloved glasses on, I normally leave them off because the lenses something cause glare in photos.

Tuesday Try This- Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation

I have finally found the perfect powder based foundation. I have looked long and hard, and tried many of these creations and every one has the same result on my skin. You know that caked on, used too much makeup look? That's normally what powder foundations does to my face. Until now...

I have been such a fan of the Urban Decay Naked liquid foundation that I thought I should give the powder based Naked foundation a try. While I was at Sephora recently I asked the makeup consultant to try it out on my face. She chose the colour that would be a good fit and 'voila!", it looked amazing on my skin.

The packaging is beautiful, the case if reflective (which is why you can see the flowers if you look closely, and it comes with a lovely purple carrying cloth case.

The inside of the case has the foundation well and a small sponge. The foundation itself goes on very smooth. I like to put the product on the sponge first and then buff it using my small powder brush. I find it gives a smooth almost airbrush look to my skin.

The formula is so lightweight I truly feel like I am wearing no foundation at all. The great thing is that you can easily build up this foundation to suit your skin's needs.

Monday Musings- Spring Outerwear + Frou Frou Frill Giveaway

As much as it is nice to be back from my trip away, I am missing the gorgeous weather as it was warm and sunny in Floriday. This week has not been very warm here in Southern Ontario, in fact most days I have had to wear a winter coat including hats and mittens. On the weekend when we shot this outfit it was a bit warmer so I thought I would show you a great substitute for a spring coat. I found this amazing Burberry inspired poncho/blanket scarf at Dynamite and it has been my go to outerwear item when running errands. It is so easy to throw on and I love the pattern and colours in the scarf.

Here is another Florida outfit. I was so lucky to go shopping with my mom at the Ellenton Outlet Mall which was only 10 minutes away from where my parents were staying. I love outlet malls and normally l find some great deals, this trip was no exception. The clothing I am wearing in this post is all from J.Crew Factory. I happened to go on a day when the store was having half off everything. I got some great pieces including this shirt and skirt.

Tuesday Try This- The Florida Aquarium

Do I have a treat for you today? Last week while I was in Florida I had the chance to visit the awesome Florida Aquarium. The Florida Aquarium is located in downtown Tampa in the Canalside area of the city. If you have not been to Tampa it is gorgeous, the architecture is lovely and the whole city is very clean. I can't even explain how excited I was to see the aquarium and to take my entire family with me. It has been years since I was in an aquarium and I know I got to see the best of the best marine life. I know you will love seeing these pictures as you read the rest of this post.

The Florida Aquarium has the most incredible outdoor space which you will see more of later but this picture gives such a gorgeous  view of the building itself.

I had to put one picture of the happiness on my son's face walking in, he is still talking about the fishes he saw especially one he called Mr. Grouper in honour of his favourite Bubble Guppies show.

Here is Mr. Grouper! This is one of the largest fish I have ever see it must have been at least 300 pounds. One thing that impressed me about the aquarium was how knowledgeable and helpful the staff is. There were many times I was observing a tank and a staff member would come over to me and give me extra information about the fish inside.

The stingray exhibit at the Florida Aquarium is gorgeous. These animals are so fascinating to watch, and believe it or not, you can touch them! I wasn't feeling very brave that day, but the hands-on option of this exhibit really sets it apart.

Charlie my son, loved watching the sharks. This shark is massive! You can see it's teeth a little bit in this picture but you definitely don't want to meet up with this creature.

These flashlight fish are so unique. They really do light up or glow in the water. I think we stood and watched for at least ten minutes.

The outdoor part of the aquarium is a child's dream come true! There is a HUGE water splash pad for children to play in. The best part, the gift shop sells most items you need for your child to play in case you forgot to pack them, or didn't know this gem of a waterpark was there. Charlie loved playing outside and getting soaked.

There is also a great restaurant outside that we had lunch at, my quesedilla was delicious! We all got some sort of a sandwich, our server was so friendly and took extra good care of our table.

The Florida Aquarium is an amazing place to see, one of the best attractions I have been to. There is so much to see, and there are shows scattered throughout the day so that you can see it all. I highly recommend going as a family as the kids will learn so much.

I thank the Florida Aquarium immensely for having my family attend, it was such a special day that we will never forget.

Monday Musings-Little White Dress

If you have been following along on Instagram then you will already know that I spent last week in Florida. My parents had rented a gorgeous house for the month of March so my family (my husband, son and I) went to visit for our March Break. We were so fortunate to go and stay with them, as they are the most generous parents in the world. We had so many amazing times and my son loved every minute of it. You will be sure to see a few highlights on the blog this week and maybe into next week.

I decided to show you this adorable white dress from Gap. It is so lovely and I can't believe the dresses that Gap are selling lately. The fit and flare style makes me feel like myself and I never get tired of it. My parents house in Florida was on the Gulf side and their backyard looked on to this gorgeous inlet water.
